UET Peshawar – KP RETP Skill Development Program

The landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by strategic investments in human capital. At the forefront of this change is the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Economic Transformation Project (KP RETP), a monumental initiative spearheaded by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). As a pivotal implementing partner, UET Peshawar is dedicated to the core mission of KP RETP: to equip 60,000 youth and women across the province with critical, market-relevant skills. This ambitious endeavor is designed to promote self-reliance, enhance employability, and stimulate economic growth at the grassroots level. The training programs under KP RETP are designed to cover a diverse range of high-demand sectors, including:

• Agriculture and Agri-Business:Modernizing farming practices and fostering entrepreneurial ventures within the agricultural value chain.
• Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TEVT):Providing practical, hands-on expertise in various trades to meet evolving industry demands.
• Emerging Technologies:Introducing participants to cutting-edge advancements and the skills required to leverage them.
• Digital Skills:Enhancing digital literacy and specialized competencies essential for participation in the modern digital economy.
• Entrepreneurship and Soft Skills:Cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset alongside crucial communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.

This comprehensive skill development program directly contributes to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s visionary initiative to empower the province’s youth and women.
